We are pleased to announce the resumption of our in-person annual Four Noble Truths Seminar and Pilgrimage for 2024. This two-week program, led by SINI’s senior resident monks, will begin at the Sarnath International Nyingma Institute and continue through other sacred Buddhist sites in India. After a five-day seminar in Sarnath, the pilgrimage will proceed to Nalanda, Rajgir, and Bodhgaya, where participants will join the 35th Nyingma World Peace Ceremony and the Manjushri Namasangiti Global Sanskrit Chanting Ceremony. This program presents a special opportunity to connect with the Tibetan monastic tradition in a profound way. Former participants have commented on the program’s uniquely accessible format and life-changing experience of learning with monks at sacred sites of the Buddha’s life.
SINI’s unique presentation of the Four Noble Truths Program is rooted in the words of the Buddha. The enlightened insights taught by the Buddha as the Four Noble Truths are brought into a contemporary context through self-reflection of our own experience and engagement of our hearts and minds to find the causes of suffering. It is through this process of self-inquiry that meaningful transformation can take place. By bringing the experience of suffering into the light of wisdom, healing begins, and the path of awakening calls.
