Doug Nurnberg

Doug Nurnberg has been a student of Tarthang Rinpoche since 1976, when following the winds of karma, he came to work at the Odiyan Retreat Center. He was a resident worker and student with Rinpoche until 1983. From 1983 to 2004 he was a teacher and coach in Colorado and Arizona, returning to Odiyan periodically for work retreats. In 2004 Rinpoche asked Doug to come to Ratna Ling to act as the Project Manager for the buildout of the Ratna Ling retreat center. In 2011 he came to SINI to help finish the construction on the Sarnath International Nyingma Institute. From 2011, Doug has dedicated about six months a year to look after all SINI construction, maintenance, garden and miscellaneous projects. He has supervised the construction of four World Peace Bells in Bodhgaya, Tashi Ding, Swayambhu, Nepal and Shwedagon, Burma.
