Catherine Brown first traveled to India and Nepal in 1991 to conduct research for her master’s degree. During that six-month sojourn, she met with scholars throughout the region, and investigated ancient Buddhist and Hindu portrayals of nature in art and literature. On her first visit to SINI in 2015, she felt as though she had found a balm for her soul. She has dreamt of returning to work with the monks ever since. Having found her calling teaching English and supporting educators of non-native English speakers, she returned to India as an English teacher with The American Embassy School in New Delhi. These days Catherine supports SINI's English for Dharma Purposes program from her home in the Pacific Northwest United States. She is gratified to think of the great blessings for the Dharma that will arise from SINI's students!
