The Twelfth Throne Holder of Palyul Lineage Karma Kuchen Rinpoche enthroned 210 Khenpos (the eighth graduating cohort), 73 Khenmos (the first cohort) and 12 Dorje Lopons on 22nd April 2023.

On the most auspicious occasion of Namdroling monastery’s 60th anniversary and in the presence of Karma Kuchen Rinpoche, the head of the Payul lineage, senior presiding tulkus and lamas of Namdroling, 300 monks and nuns were conferred respectively the distinguished title of khenpo and khenmo.

Earning a khenpo or khenmo (if you are a nun) degree, includes completing nine years of intensive shedra (monastic studies), over five of service to the monastery, the vow to remain a monastic, the completion of many different Dharma practices including the preliminary practices, the inner and outer yogas, higher Vajrayana teachings, periods of retreat, and the supreme vow to benefit all sentient beings.

SINI had a total of nine administrators, editors, and students including one nun, who were conferred degrees.
