Retreat Descriptions
Practicing the Four Foundations of Mindfulness: Explore the Four Foundations of Mindfulness with Khenpo Kunga Dakpa and delve into the Satipaṭṭhāna Sūtra – a core teaching of the Buddha.
Together, we’ll deepen awareness through four powerful gateways:
Body – Be present with your physical experience
Feelings – Notice feeling tones
Mind – Observe thoughts and mental states
Phenomena – Recognize patterns that shape our experience
Practicing the Way of a Bodhisattva
Khenpo Kunga Dakpa will guide us using texts dear to him and many masters: the 8th-century Buddhist classic, The Way of the Bodhisattva by Shantideva and The Nectar of Manjushri’s Speech, a classic commentary on Shantideva’s teachings. These profound teachings offer timeless guidance for developing compassion, resilience, and the courage to face life’s challenges.
We will focus on Chapters 1 and 3 of The Way of the Bodhisattva:
The Excellence of Bodhichitta explores how compassion opens and strengthens the heart, creating a foundation for a more spacious and connected way of being.
Taking Hold of Bodhichitta offers practical steps to awaken and sustain a compassionate attitude in daily life.
