Leila Wilson grew up in DeKalb, Illinois, raised by a Dutch gardener/artist/social worker and an Irish-American chemistry professor/lawyer/inventor. She runs the Writing Center and teaches literature and creative writing courses at Chicago’s School of the Art Institute. She enjoys relearning half-forgotten languages, taking long walks, gardening in spurts, and reading and writing poems. After admiring the work taking place at SINI for many years, she and her family were able to visit in January 2020, and she has felt so grateful to continue supporting monastics enrolled in the English for Dharma Purposes program.
