Bridges of Goodness is a heartfelt initiative that builds spiritual and
cultural bridges between East and West. It is rooted in the aspiration to share wisdom teachings in accessible, authentic, and compassionate ways—fostering mutual understanding and inner growth.
Leading the Way in Europe
While not everyone could be with us in person this time, we’re thrilled to share the highlights with you—and warmly invite you to join us next time! Khenpo Kunga Dakpa, a senior monk from Mindroling Monastery and one of the first graduates of SINI’s English for Dharma Purposes Program, is joyfully returning to lead the Bridges of Goodness tour in Europe—a blissful collaboration between SINI and the Nyingma Centers in Amsterdam and Cologne.
Two Weeks of Practice and Connection in Amsterdam
We just completed two enriching weeks at the Amsterdam Center, where Khenpo felt instantly at home—reconnecting with old friends and warmly welcoming new faces. Each morning, he guided 7–8 AM (CEST) meditation sessions, with lively and insightful Q&A discussions every Friday. Weekend retreats explored The Four Foundations of Mindfulness and The Way of a Bodhisattva, creating a nurturing space for deepening understanding and practice.
One of the highlights was visiting the future site of the Stupa Center in Winterswijk—a newly established country retreat shared by the Dutch and German Nyingma communities. Together, we buried tsatsas—small sacred clay votive offerings that embody prayers, mantras, and blessings—at the site where a majestic 15-meter stupa will be built. This stupa will be offered as a symbol of peace, healing, and spiritual refuge for all beings.
Continuing the Journey in Cologne
We’ve now continued on to the German Nyingma Center in Cologne, where Khenpo is offering a parallel program until June 1, including morning meditations, weekend teachings, and warm community gatherings that continue to inspire and uplift.
This year’s program has sparked fresh ideas for staying connected—such as inviting SINI’s resident monks to participate as guest speakers via Zoom in ongoing classes. We’re committed to finding meaningful ways to offer more teaching opportunities as part of their English training and to keep this vibrant exchange alive throughout the year.
We’re already looking ahead with excitement to next year, when Bridges of Goodness – Europe returns for its third edition in Winterswijk. Until then, we carry the warmth, wisdom, and inspiration of this journey in our hearts.
