Patricia Farland
Patricia Farland lives in Des Moines, Iowa with her husband, Bryan. They enjoy gardening, local music and spending time with friends. She is happy that her two daughters and granddaughter live nearby so they can spend lots of time together.
Patricia, who has an elementary education (K-9) degree and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, taught in public education for 30 years. Shortly after retirement, Patricia volunteered for 6 months as a bookbinder at the Ratna Ling Retreat Center in California. This is where she learned about the book distribution at the World Peace Ceremony in Bodhgaya and the Sarnath International Nyingma Institute both in northern India. In January of 2016 Patricia joined the staff at SINI for 2 years where she enjoyed teaching, learning and living with the Buddhist monks. In 2020 Patricia joined the SINI team again to teach monks in Bhutan and India via Zoom.
