Sengé Catherine serves in the newly established role of Monastic Education Coordinator at SINI, focusing on strengthening Buddhist education in monasteries and nunneries in a world undergoing rapid change. She works across institutions to explore how traditional Buddhist monastic learning can adapt to modern challenges while preserving the integrity of the Dharma. Through initiatives like the Three Cups of Tea Monastic Teacher Training Program, she helps facilitate training, build educator networks, and develop innovative teaching methodologies.
Born and raised in a Buddhist center in France, Senge was deeply inspired by her mother, a lifelong educator. She pursued a BA in Primary Education and later moved to Dharamshala, India, where she spent six years studying Tibetan language and Buddhist philosophy. Through her work with educational institutions, she developed training programs and resources to support Tibetan language learning and Buddhist education.
Her journey with SINI began in late 2024 when she connected with Tsering Gellek, recognizing their shared vision for supporting monastic educators. She joined the Three Cups of Tea Monastic Teacher Training Program in January 2025, and from there, a natural collaboration emerged. Now at SINI, she is committed to empowering monastic educators, fostering a thriving learning community, and ensuring Buddhist education remains dynamic, relevant, and deeply rooted in tradition.
