Alexandre Chami Filho, warmly referred to as “Shami” by his peers at SINI, is a Master of Theological Studies focusing on Buddhist Studies from Harvard University. Before Harvard, Shami studied and served as a teaching assistant at Rangjung Yeshe University in Nepal, following nearly a decade of work building the Drukpa Lineage spiritual community in his homeland, Brazil. At SINI, he attempts to teach an introductory translation course for monastics. However, he often feels he is the student, grateful to learn from so many gifted teachers who generously guide his efforts.
